The Bicu Bicu Theater Festival started in 1996 with the participation of eight universities. To date, it is one of the most important activities organized by the Department of Cultural Extension, both for the quantity and quality of the participating cast, as well as for the wide coverage of the media and the massive public attendance.

The festival transcends borders with the staging of performances by international groups. It has become a national standard of excellence among theatrical festivals with the active roles of university students, high school theater groups and special guests. The performance of “528Grs”, cast of the UPSA, directed by Adriana Velásquez Servia stands out in a special way.
